The movie "Doughboys" which features Louis Lombardi (Agent Skip Lipari) and Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy) has been released on DVD. The synopsis is, Bronx brothers Frank and Lou must learn to work together to save the family bakery after Lou's gambling debts pile up and the local mob boss gives them an ultimatum: settle up or hand over the business. As the brothers try to come up with the cash, they reflect on the life choices they've made. Lou Lombardi will also be reprising his role on "Entourage" according to the AceShowBiz website.

The movie is available from Amazon. "Doughboys" even has a MYSPACE profile, so become a friend and get in the loop with updates about the film.

We have 2 exciting events going on this week. On Thursday November 20th, at 9:45 pm, at the Tribeca Cinemas, as part of the Big Apple Film Festival, the movie, "Lynch Mob" which features Tony Darrow (Larry Boy Barese) will screen. Scream Magazine describes it as "Life imitating art, or art imitating life, that is the question! Come see the movie Christopher on the Sopranos was trying to make. 'GoodFellas meets night of the Living Dead'!"

Tickets can be bought on line here or at the box office.

Then on Friday, November 21, The documentary; "Beyond Wiseguys: Italian Americans & The Movies" will be screening at the The 5th Annual Big Apple Film Festival, Tribeca Cinemas, 54 Varick Street, NYC at 8:15 pm. Executive Produced by John Turturro and narrated by Paul Borghese (BAFF Board of Directors), the film uses interviews with well-known contemporary filmmakers to show how Italian Americans transformed themselves from "outsiders" – stereotyped by the Hollywood establishment – into a creative force to be reckoned with. The film also explores the prevailing gangster stereotypes from the silent era, the advent of the "talkies," groundbreaking films like "The Godfather" and the TV series "The Sopranos". The documentary is illustrated with film clips, stills and family photos – many supplied by the interviewees themselves – including Chazz Palminteri, Marisa Tomei, Stanley Tucci, Susan Sarandon, Spike Lee, Jack Valenti, David Chase, Ben Gazzara, Isabella Rossellini and others. Tickets can be purchased here on line or at the box office.

Tony Lip

Look who my "so called friend" (only kidding) spotted driving around town the other day! Tony Lip (Carmine Lupertazzi) ! Tony let me know he will be at Matarazzo's Deli located at 457 Baldwin Ave (right down the street from my office) in Jersey City, NJ,for the Grand Opening celebration of this Italian Deli. This Deli is a real authentic Italian stomping ground, with home-style food and touches of your grandmother’s kitchen. It is open seven days a week from 10am to 10pm and will deliver anywhere in Jersey City for free through the new year. Tony will personally be on hand to sign his book, "Shut up and Eat! !" (which by the way has a few of my personal photos in it). Other special celebs are expected in attendance and making deliveries. The time to be there is between 11am to 3pm.
