It's raining here again, oh joy!
Performances of James Gandolfini's (Tony Soprano) play "Gods of Carnage" will resume on September 8, according to the article in Broadway World, it will continue until November 14. Mr. Gandolfini''s newest movie, "In The Loop" opens this Friday.
A reminder for this weekend, 27th annual Upper Ohio Valley Italian Heritage Festival, will be bigger and better than past years, especially since Denise Borino (Ginny Sack) Tony Lip (Carmine Lupertazzi) and Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy) will be participating in the festivities. Vinny recently celebrated his birthday at Cha Cha's Restaurant in Little Italy with a few of his closest and dearest friends.

This was definitely a "sighting" I would have loved to be at, Steve Buscemi (Tony Blundetto) and Martin Scorsese filming "Boardwalk Empire" in Brooklyn.

Garry Pastore of Hudson Film says," Wethought it appropriate to present 'On The Waterfront' whichwas filmed in Hoboken as our gift to the community. We know right nowlots of families are hurting and cannot afford a night out. We wantedto make great theater available to everyone."
The story is set in 1950's Hoboken.Terry Malloy dreamsabout being a prize fighter, while tending his pigeons and runningerrands at the docks for Johnny Friendly, the corrupt boss of thedockers union. Terry witnesses a murder by two of Johnny's thugs, andlater meets the dead man's sister. She introduces him to Father Barry,who tries to convince him to provide information for the courts thatwill tumble the racketeers. The Waterfront Crime Commission is about tohold hearings on union crime and underworld infiltration. As workersare turned against each other, Terry inadvertently participates in themurder of fellow longshoreman Joey Doyle, orchestrated by boss JohnnyFriendly and aided by Terry's brother Charley. When Joey's sister Ediesees more in Terry than he sees in himself and Father Barry urges himon, Terry begins to feel pangs of conscience, examines his past andbegins to take responsibility for his actions.
'On the Waterfront'was a 1954 American Film about mob violence and corruption amonglongshoreman. The film was directed by Elia Kazan and written by BuddSchulberg. It starred Marlon Brando, Eva Marie Saint, Rod Steiger, KarlMalden and Lee J Cobb. The soundtrack was composed by LeonardBernstein. It was based on a series of articles written by the New YorkSun's, Malcolm Johnson. The film won eight academy awards including,best picture, best actor, and best director.
