Definitely my favorite time of the week. Definitely, raining here, but hopely Saturday and Sunday it will clear up. Or another idea I have is let it rain all weekend, so there is no rain left in the forecast for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.

Reuters announced that Soprano creator, David Chase has signed on to direct his first feature feature film. It will be a drama.

Time is running out to see Max Casella, aka Benny Fazio in the play "Endgame", at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. This is a short run for this production, it is scheduled to close on May 18. The BAM Harvey Theater is located at 651 Fulton Street in Brooklyn. Tickets, priced $25-$75, are available by calling (718) 636-4100 or by visiting www.BAM.org . If you are in one of my favorite cities, San Francisco don't for get to stop by and see Annie Liebowitz's photo exhibition “A Photographer's Life” at the Legion of Honor . According to the San Francisco Sentinel, it It will close at that venue on May 25, and then the tour will go international.

I love living in Jersey. What other state has a claim to having its own mystery meat. Just love that stuff! I guess you know what I am having for breakfast today. Yummy!

I see that Steve Schirripa (Bobby Bacala) has been added to the list of correspondents for NBC's Last Comic Standing. Great guy!

Michael Imperioli's (Christopher Moltisanti) movie, "Lonely Bones" release date has been pushed back to fall of 2009.

Mother's Day I believe is this upcoming Sunday, Carmela Soprano has made number 15 for the top television mother list.

Robert Funaro (Eugene Pontecorvo) will be participating in "Taste for Life" for the The Cancer Wellness Foundation of Central Alabama on June 21 at Court Square. For more information call Cancer Wellness Foundation of Central Alabama at 273-2279.

Ah, the weekend is finally here!

According to Variety, Michael Imperioli will be will be directing the movie, "The Hungry Ghosts." If I read correctly, he also wrote the script. Filming is to commence next month in New York City and Steven R. Schirripa (Bobby Bacala) and Sharon Angela (Rosalie Aprile) are part of the cast.

James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) has joined the cast of the movie, "Looped."

Looking for something to do this weekend?

Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy) and Jason Cerbone (Jackie Aprile, Jr.) will be joining, DJ Johnny Rocks, from New York's KTU at his release party for his new CD "Dance with My Godfather" this Saturday night at "The City" (inside the Radisson Hotel) in New Rochelle, NY. I heard a cut from the disk the other night on The Wise Guy Show, and I have to admit the music was quite impressive!

Making plans this weekend, The Chiller Show returns to New Jersey and Joe Pantoliano (Ralph Ciffaretto) is expected as a guest. The venue is the Hilton located in Parsippany.

Taylor Ham and Egg is better than a Cuban sandwich anyday

Today is always one of my favorite times of the week. The weekend is almost here and tonight is the "live" airing of Vincent Pastore's Wise Guy Show. To see who tonight's guests are click here.

I guess Fidel Castro was jealous of the television his relatives were watching in Union City, or maybe they just longed for something from New Jersey, like Taylor's Ham. It was announced that the Cuban National Television will start airing "The Sopranos." A local Cuban news source explained

Juventud Rebelde , said the decision to air "The Sopranos" and "Grey's Anatomy" demonstrated the state television's "proven rigor in the selection of dramas of high ethical quality and powerful presentation."

Okay, I just thought they wanted to look at the newer cars used in the show.

The weather is really starting to get wonderful here in New Jersey. I wish it would stay like this year round. I also was in New York City Saturday and I got my hair cut by a Soprano, Tony Ray Rossi (Fred Peters) at his hair salon located on West 57 th Street.

Today is that day people dread, it tax day! School Boards in New Jersey dread this day also, because residents of the Garden State try their hardest to vote down the latest referrendum asking for more money. I thought that's where our lottery proceeds went, to fund education...

I'm starting to see some trees awakening from their winter rest, and my plant bulbs are reaching out of the soil to the sunshine. That's a good sign, spring is finally here!

Congratulations are in line! The movie, "Doughboys" won the Best Film Award at the Kent Film Festival held this week. The movie features Lou Lombardi (Agent Skip Lipari) and Vinny Pastore.

Cha Cha, I know what you've been up to this week...The New York Post reports that you've been busy in New York's Little Italy (like when isn't this guy busy in Little Italy, he's considered the Mayor of that area) filming a pilot for the program, "Don Justice." I heard some positive things about this program that Arthur Brown (creator/executive producer) and Charles Messina (director) are involved in.

It's getting closer to the point where it feels like spring has sprung! My croucuses are blooming and I can see the leaves of my daffodils and tulips pushing out from the soil.

James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) has a new project in the works. It is reported that he has signed on to be in the re make of the movie, “The Taking of Pelham 123”. He has been cast in the role of the mayor. My friend Roddy Murphy has been also working on this film.

Remind me, next time there is a camera around to wander behind the subject, to get to be part of the frame…The Record has an article about the book I just read, “Fear and Yoga in New Jersey” written by Debra Galant.

I believe this event is going to be held in Galesburg, IL. On April 7, Discovery Depot will hold a fundraising event, at the Cherry Street Restaurant and Bar located at 57 South Cherry Street, in which Joe Pantoliano (Ralph Cifaretto) will be a celebrity mixologist. Sometimes things go full circle

It's funny how things turn out in life. In the end of February 2001, I met a reporter for the New York Times at the Barnes & Noble in Clifton. She wanted to talk to me about what exactly Soprano Sue is. Tonight, it has become full circle for us. Last night I was at that same Barnes & Noble again, except this time to was to report on Debra Galant's reading and book signing of her newest book, "Fear and Yoga in New Jersey." Excellent book, pick up a copy. She's doing another event Thursday night at Cafe Eclectic located at 444 Bloomfield Ave in Montclair, NJ (7 pm), Make a point of attending, she does a lively comedic presentation.

It's Wednesday and as always its my favorite night of the week. After a nice dinner of baked ziti, its time to curl up in my recliner and listen to Vincent Pastore's Wise Guy Show on Sirius Radio Raw Dog 104. The program airs from 6 to 9 pm. Cha Cha's web site (Albie Cianflone) is updated with tonight's guests, and if you become his friend on MYSPACE, you'll receive a bulletin, giving you a heads up on Wednesday night's guest list.

After that, you have a chance to see the show, I was lucky enough to see in a special screening last week, "Beyond Wise Guys: Italian Americans and the Movies" which airs at 10 pm on Channel 13 (NET) in the New York area.

Through interviews with Italian Americans active in the film industry and vérité footage of them at work – Beyond Wiseguys reveals how their heritage finds expression in their art and informs the projects they choose.

I really enjoyed this film and highly recommend it to my readers. It airs in the New York area at 10 pm, on channel 13 (WNET) at 10 pm. Another short work week, sometimes I like them but other times, I could do without them.

Tonight there is an event that I am pretty excited about. Last week I was reading the book "Fear and Yoga in New Jersey" and I really enjoyed it. Tonight the author, Debra Galant, will have a reading and a book signing at my local Barnes & Noble Bookseller, located in Clifton Commons on Route 3 east (Clifton, NJ) at 7:30 pm. I plan on attending, and for those looking to save a buck, everytime she finishes reading a chapter, yell "read one more chapter."

I've been waiting for this one, today the movie “Revolver” featuring Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy) will be released on DVD in The United States. source: Movie Web

I just finished reading "Fear and Yoga in New Jersey" and I have to admit I really enjoyed it.

Nina is a self-employed yoga instructor in an affluent part of Essex County, NJ. She caters to the blond wives of rich Manhattan businessmen and is secretly ashamed of her Long Island upbringing as a Jewish American Princess. Now she's a Unitarian, pleased with her own open-mindedness and environmental outlook. "She drove a Prius, recycled religiously, eschewed synthetics, shopped organic, drank bottled water and bought all her stationery from third-world countries." When her husband loses his job as a weather forecaster at the airport, Nina's planets go out of alignment and all sorts of bad karma comes her way: a yoga student falls and threatens to sue, a hurricane in Florida scares her meddling mother into a surprise visit, and her son starts acting strangely after attending a rich classmate's bat mitzvah. Galant, whose first novel, Rattled, proved that she had a talent for zany suburban social satire, strikes again. This time her characters are slightly more sympathetic, if pathetic, but the action is madcap and nonstop. Recommended for all public libraries.- Christine Perkins, Burlington P.L, WA.

"Fear and Yoga in New Jersey" (St. Martin's Press)

Like her first novel, "Rattled," Debra Galant's new book is a comedy of modern life in a New Jersey suburb. And it starts out, anyway, with promise.

Nina is a yoga teacher whose studied calm on the job masks an increasingly out-of-control domestic life. Her normally sober-minded husband is laid off work in an outsourcing, and proceeds to blunder into misadventures with a hard-nosed Homeland Security agent and a lap-dancer named Xenon. Nina's son, seduced by attending an opulent bat mitzvah, decides he wants a bar mitzvah, taking advantage of the Jewish roots Nina had rejected in favour of Unitarianism. And Nina's parents, including her overbearing and suspicious mother, drop in for a visit.

The story unfolds in a series of scenes that rotate among the main characters. It gets off to a promising start with some funny situations and good one-liners.

A beginning yoga student, meekly entering a class during quiet time, adopts "an exaggerated pretence of civility, or else her interpretation of Marcel Marceau imitating a burglar." A wealthy high school student who bought a souped-up iPod with her ton of bat mitzvah money passes on her old one to a friend "like it was a half-eaten tuna sandwich." A rabbi bears "a full beard with the texture of a Brillo pad."

Just as enticing are Galant's takes on suburban life, such as her descriptions of the women in Nina's yoga classes. And the author deftly portrays the petty resentments that build up between spouses.

As Nina's life unravels, it looks like the story is headed toward an inventive, screwball climax. But then, somehow, the fizz goes flat. Instead, toward the end of the book, loose ends are tied up in a way that is, well, workmanlike.

Nonetheless, it's a breezy read, a beach book. If that's what you're after, this will do the trick.

No Sopranos movie, but that doesn't mean we should "Don't Stop Believing"

This story didn't spread as far and fast as the one last week, about a possible Sopranos movie, but according to this Associated Press story (I think this was released on Friday 3/7/2008),

'An HBO spokeswoman says there's no truth to the rumor that plans are in the works for a film about Tony Soprano and his mob crew.'

I got a news release for some items being auctioned off to benefit the TJ Martell Foundation, which will be listed on EBAY. The T.J. Sopranos Movies, Kleptos, and the sausage

There's been rumors, there has been chatter, some of which is just spectulation or is it? The Record reports on the latest about a possible Soprano Movie and the source... ground zero of Sopranos locations, The Bada Bing (and by the way, I still stop by occasionally, their food a great!).

I am almost done reading “Fear and Yoga in New Jersey”, I found out the author Debra Galant has some upcoming booking signings in Clifton, Montclair and Bloomfield. I plan on going to the Clifton event. If anyone is looking for some great reading and wants their book signed, here is a list of where she will be.

Actress Geraldine Librandi, played the role of Patty Leotardo's wife on The Sopranos. Starting this Sunday, she will take the stage at the Triad Stage in Greensboro, North Carolina in the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning drama “Doubt.” The Go Triad news source interviewed Ms. Librandi about The Sopranos and her totally different role in the play. This weekend is starting to look busy and shaping up to be a lot of fun.

On Saturday, March 8, at 1 pm I am going to be at National Amusements City Center, 15 Cinema Deluxe on Mamoroneck Avenue between Main Street and Martine in lovely downtown White Plains , NY , to see the movie “Doughboys”. The movie features Lou Lombardi (Agent Skip Lipari) and Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy). The film is being screened as part of the Westchester Film Festival.

Then after the screening it's dinner and cannoli's at John ‘Cha Cha' Ciarcia's café with comedian Johnny Salami which is located at 113 Mulberry Street, New York City 's Little Italy. After having some of his special recipe sausage, I have intentions of traveling up to The Players Loft at The Players Theatre to see Charles Messina's newest play “Klepto” which is part of The Shortened Attention Span Baseball Festival (all the plays in this festival have a baseball theme). The play features Sopranos alumni Lou Martini, Jr (Anthony Infante).The scoop on this event if you plan on going, call Theatermania for tickets, (212) 352-3101 or log onto The Players Theatre's Shortened Attention Span Festival at The Players Theatre 115 MacDougal Street New York City. The play runs from March 6 to the 9 th. A little birdie outside my window this morning told me that Jason Cerbone (Jackie Aprile, Jr) is expected tonight for the opening night festivities.

Also going on this weekend, this year's The Grand Marshall of the St Joseph's parade for 2008 in New Orleans will be Dominic Chianese (Uncle Junior Corrado Soprano). Last year's Grand Marshall Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy) and is expected in attendance. Plan on attending? Here is a map of the parade route.

I can't make this event (no more concord plane around) but March 7 - 10, 2008 - Lorraine Bracco (Dr. Jennifer Melfi) will be hosting the 6 th annual S. Quiet week here in Jersey . It's raining right now but they say it's going to clear up by noon. The temperature is like in the 50's, I hope this doesn't mean it will be overly hot this summer. I've spent my week (well since yesterday) absolutely glued to Debra Galant's newest book, “Fear and Yoga in New Jersey.” It's a satirical look about the dark heart of suburbia and it is quite enjoyable to read about it. Vincent Pastore's Wise Guy Show and La Dolce Vita

We have a couple of things going on tonight. To start, the live airing of Vincent Pastore's Wise Guy Show airs live on Sirius Radio Raw Dog 104. If you sign up as one of Cha Cha's friends on MySpace, you would have gotten a bulletin about tonight's guests, otherwise just visit his web site, to see who is on the show tonight. 'Cha Cha' played the character of Albie Cianflone, Phil Leotardo's right hand man on The Sopranos. The Wise Guy Show with Vinny Pastore (Big Pussy), Joe Rigano, Joe Causi, Chach, and Uncle Floyd Vivino is one of the high points of my week.

Also going on tonight, for those in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia is a “live” performance of Michael Imperioli's band, “La Dolce Vita”. The place to be is Silk City, located at Fifth and Spring Garden Streets. To read an interview with Mr Imperioli (Christopher Moltisanti) click here.
